Looking south over the trees. You can see the pointers (Alpha and Beta Centaurus) rising through the trees. The coalsack stands out, as do the dust clouds through Carina.
The red lights at the bottom are peoples night torches. You can just make out the silloute of my 8" dob in the foreground.
|
Orion passing behind a telegraph pole. You can see all the fungus and stuff on the pole.
|
A really beautiful picture of the South Celestial Pole. You can see the Small Magellanic Cloud at the top, with the Large Cloud to the left. The dust clouds of Carina are at the bottom.

Hurried photo of Orion and Sirius, I think I was trying to catch a satellite at the time.

Another beautiful shot of the south celestial pole with the large and small magellanic clouds.

A shot of Orion which was going to be a nice star trial until the shutter release cable malfunctioned...

A nice close-up of Orion.

I'm not sure what happened with this photo but the trails get narrower as the photos goes on... maybe it was the dew or something... anyway it makes a nice photo.
