 USS Abraham Lincoln

On Friday Jan 12th 2001, part of the USS Abraham Lincoln Battlegroup visited Fremantle. The Nimitz class aircraft carrier USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN and the Sacramento-class fast combat stores ship USS CAMDEN anchored in Gage Roads, while the Los Angeles-class submarine USS CHEYENNE berthed at Garden Island, and the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS BUNKER HILL berthed in Fremantle Harbour.

The ships had just returned from three months duty in the Arabian Gulf, where they had been supporting the United Nations resolutions against Iraq.

The USS Abraham Lincoln was berthed out in Gage Roads. I took these photos from the North Mole
